2021 Colors of the Year

2021 Colors of the Year

For many people the new year symbolizes a fresh start, for Pantone it means a new color choice that helps set intentions for the new year. The color choice, or in the case of this year colors, can be seen throughout many aspects of life such as clothing, make up, interior design and paint colors. The colors for 2021 were recently announced: Ultimate Gray & Illuminating. If you’re interested in incorporating this years colors into your home, here are some options that will bring your home into 2021 with style!

Yellow flowers in a clear glass vase against a green background.
An easy, low cost option is a simple gray vase with a sprig of flowers or gray bowl filled with lemons.
In this photo you can find several ways of integrating the colors: a graphic print, bright throw blanket & pillows, or the gray lampshade.
Staged bedroom with layered neutral bedding and a glowing yellow “It was all a dream” sign.
Custom neon signs have become popular in the last few years, resulting in them becoming more commercially available and dropping the cost.
Man relaxing barefoot on a bright yellow sofa in a light-filled modern kitchen.
This bright couch is an excellent way of using “Illuminating” to make big impact in your living room.

It can be a little bit trickier implementing these colors on the outside of your home without making any major changes like repainting your whole house. That being said it is possible!

Gray house with white trim and a bright yellow front door, surrounded by lush landscaping.
Painting your front door the bright, cheery “Illuminating” can give an otherwise neutral looking home an inviting appearance.
Brighten up your garden with some yellow flowers like these Lantanas. With tons of drought tolerant plans that thrive in the 831 area code, it would only take a minimal amount of time to plant them, plus the continued watering, to include this color of the year at your house.
A cheery, citrus wreath, like the one pictured above, to the left, can be made with fake lemons and flowers- allowing it to adorn your door year round without any fruit going bad.

Wether or not you have plans to incorporate one, or both, of these colors into your living space, the team here at ROOM Real Estate would like to take the opportunity to say Happy New Year, we wish you a joyous and prosperous 2021! Show us how, if, you do, use a Pantone Color of the Year on the exterior or interior of your house by using the hashtag #ROOMrealestate or #Themadaniteam on your social media page.
